Reception Induction

Welcome to St. Joseph's Catholic School

Reception at St Joseph's provides a happy, caring and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. Our well-resourced setting includes a spacious outdoor garden and access to Little Leaves, our dedicated Forest School site, offering rich opportunities for outdoor exploration and discovery.

In Reception, we deliver a stimulating and engaging curriculum that supports children in developing the essential skills, knowledge and understanding needed for future success. Through meaningful learning experiences, we encourage every child to grow in confidence, curiosity and independence.

Our approach combines focused adult-led teaching with high-quality play-based learning, ensuring children benefit from both structured learning and opportunities to follow their interests. This balanced approach enables children to develop resilience, creativity and problem-solving skills while exploring, investigating and making sense of the world around them.

At St Joseph's, we are committed to providing a strong foundation for lifelong learning, helping every child to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
